A: The Piper Super Cub is $400/hour. The price includes fuel (wet) and the instructor fee.

A: The best way to get backcountry flying experience as a private pilot is through dedicated backcountry flight training with an experienced instructor. These courses teach essential skills like off-airport landings, mountain flying, and short takeoff and landing (STOL) techniques in real-world environments. Training in places like Alaska, often in aircraft such as a Super Cub, provides the hands-on experience needed to operate safely in remote and challenging terrain.
